The winners of the five World’s Best School Prizes were chosen by a Judging Academy, comprising distinguished leaders from across the globe based on rigorous criteria. Kalvi International Public School, located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, was awarded the Community Choice Award through a Public Vote. This independent school is recognized for its transformative efforts in education and sports, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Since its inception in 2018, Kalvi International Public School (KIPS) has engaged 2,359 local students in sports, reducing juvenile delinquency and fostering community involvement. The school’s holistic approach integrates sports with education, leading to remarkable achievements, including 15 students reaching national championships.
KIPS collaborates with local NGOs and government bodies to expand educational facilities and sports programs. This initiative has brought quality education and sports training to 452 students from slum areas, significantly enhancing their life prospects.
Should KIPS win the World's Best School Prize for Community Collaboration, the prize money will be used to further develop its sports and educational facilities, aiming to reach an even broader segment of the community and continue its mission of transforming lives through holistic education.
